Hey Guys,
After some 15" wheels for my corolla. 4x100 stud patern.
Am also after new tyres and was wondering whether anyone could suggest a retailer to get them from that isn't going to try to rip me off.
Hey Justin, We get our New tyres from Fin at Kosteras tyre service in Kalamunda. Fin competes out at Bormsa most of the time in an 80's brown corolla sedan. I think they only stock Dunlop rally tyres, we pay around $200 per tyre (14inch). Not sure about other brands, maybe contact Gavan Morgan, as he is in the club, and runs a tyre shop in the northern suburbs..
What model corolla are you running? If you have the AE92 Corolla, I'd be making sure that the 15inch rims fit under the guards without rubbing, as it might be a tight fit, also going to 15s from 14s would effectively raise the gear ratio, possibly making the car slower off the mark.
If you are set on 15s then I have heard that quite a few of the rally guys running evos and WRXs have stacks of used tyres in their sheds, as they change them often, after not much use. Maybe you could ask on the rallywa egroup if anyone wants to get rid of some..

I have recently sourced 15" tyres for a turbo Mazda MX6 I'm going to run. There are so many very good tyres available cheap that I wouldn't get them new. I paid $40 each for Dunlop Direnza's (directional pattern) that have only been run once. Most of the tread blocks are still square on the shoulders.
You should also be aware with the clearance issues that most of the 15" tyres are a fairly high profile. Tim Ralli has to run lower profile 15" on the front of his Lancer so they don't rub.
Then you'll have money left over to spend on power and performance mods instead!
