Fire extinguisher

Just wondering about the fire extinguisher in my hundi. It was stamped jan last year. How long until it wont pass scrutineering???

The actual CAMs rules state that it must be inspected by a scrutineer in the last 6 months, so read into that what you want. Most people have them inspected & tagged every 6 months. Its your car, if it burns its your problem! Go figure it out.....

any fire shop can tag them for you and most dont charge. as a scrutineer i generally like to see them taged every 12 months. the best thing you can do is pull them out and give them a shake every event as the powder setteles to the bottom and goes hard so if you need to use in a harry nothing works

Blake the khanacross are the problem, and any extinguisher that is mounted in a car doing any driving the vibration causes the powder to settle and compact to the bottom, put the extinguisher up to your ear and tip it up side down, you should be able to hear the powder moving. (sounds like sand moving), if you cant hear it get a rubber mallet and tap it till the powder frees up

so far as i have read in the cams manual extinguishers have to be tagged every two years, and checked every 6 months by a scruitineer. it is no good a extinguisher sitting around so that the powder builds up like mike stated
