So - is anyone keen for this?
I wouldn't mind going out for a play at some point to test a few different settings and techniques.
Problems as I see it are that if it's run on the day before a Khana, then the tracks might get a bit chewed up. Aside from that, it'd be good to make a weekend of it and stay in town...
i would like to come out and
i would like to come out and get someone is a little more experienced than my self at khanacross to give me some pointers on how to gain time and what not...but i am undecided whether i am an advanced driver or not ha ha.
I'm up for it if my wife
I'm up for it if my wife doesn't work on that weekend. She is pretty keen on driving the Mazda but so far she had to work on all the driver days. It would be great if we could use the autocross track, I'd really like to see the Mazda in third gear :-)
yes im keen, i think it
yes im keen, i think it should be on a sunday,...... i cant do it on saturdays no i work till 1....... that sucks.. dead keen to come out and test.
I would love to go out and
I would love to go out and learn a few new things from you more experienced guys, the only problem is i"m not sure wether or not i would be classified as an advanced driver or not (any ideas).
And also as Raz said C'MON give us a go on the autocross track!!!
Oh and lastly i really liked it last time we had the drive day before the khanacross so that the next day your skills are fresh and youre ready to go!
Cheers Ben
Ben, I reckon you and Aarin
Ben, I reckon you and Aarin would get a lot out of it. Maybe it would be better described as a training/test day?
And yes, the Autocross track is a lot of fun. :)
yer i would really like to
yer i would really like to do it ...but i would have trouble getting my own car up there for a non event day...that is even if i have a car by then...
yer driver development
yer driver development days... why are we calling it advanced driver days? hahha im dead keen, PLEASE MAKE IT A SUNDAY.................. they are good fun, and a great way for the younger guys to learn a few things from the more experianced folk. when is the autox track goin to be ready? have u driven it curly?
We drove a few slow(ish)
We drove a few slow(ish) laps around it to help define the track a few weeks ago. I reckon it'd be a really exciting spectator event, as well as being a nice fun track to drive.
As for scheduling of the development day, have a chat to Cheryl or Paul Simpson.
im not suggesting that we
im not suggesting that we can an event for the sake of it but if we cant find organisers and timers for the next event then why dont we ask paul or cheryl if we can schedule the advanced training day for that date. instead of having to cancel an event..but if the event is able to run then the training day should by all means be on another sunday
What cams licence do you
What cams licence do you need to do it and how old do you have to be coz i am only 13. coz i would love to do it!
pretty sure it would require
pretty sure it would require a level 2 non speed...the normal driver development days do...but there may be a age restriction at either 14 or sixteen...however i cant be 100 percent sure
yer the drivers development
yer the drivers development days you will need a junior level 2 non speed licnce at the minimum. Im pretty sure u can have one of those at 13, but it will be upto the organisers to what age limit can join. i dont see why it cant be just a drivers development day for evry one especcially you young guys, thats the only way you can learn safley.....
If you're 13, then I'd
If you're 13, then I'd recommend competing in next weekend's motorkhana. I think that once you've demonstrated competence etc in that, then move on to Khanacrosses.
I'm not really a full bottle on age limits etc - it's been a while since that was a problem for me. :)
The driver development days were supposed to be for beginners and people new to the club to get some driving experience in a low pressure environment. The last one had a low turnout, so if you're interested, sign up and turn up for a play.
I'm keen for this. Would
I'm keen for this. Would like to test some setup changes etc. in the rally car.
I used to use the driver development days for this, but they're focused more on juniors now.
The CWARCS basically prevent rallyists from doing anything near a gravel road in a competition car unless you pay 11ty billion dollars and close the roads etc. Which is good and bad.
Alex.
I can see how running the
I can see how running the autocross would draw more new members and be more beneficial for BORMSA now that Benger closed down.
what do you guys think?
Count me in as Alfie needs
Count me in as Alfie needs some tweeking. About the auto cross track i have now maped it out and i have it uploaded to AUTOCAD so we can submit it to CAMS. They have to appove it before we can drive on it. I`ll have the drawing at this weeks Kana for all to look at
Hey Ben, Apparently the
Hey Ben,
Apparently the SWTCC are setting up a new autocross venue soon. But I'm still pretty excited about the new autocross track - should be a great spectator event. And with Wayne involved, there should be a minimum of stuffing around and lots of runs for everyone.
The more, The merrier!!!
The more, The merrier!!!
The SWTCC did manage to
The SWTCC did manage to finish their new autocross track at Bunbury. I think the next event is on the 20th of July. I may give it a go if I'm not too busy with work.
20th of July? As in
20th of July? As in clashing with the BORMSA Khanacross? Argh!
