Introduction and Cars for Sale

Hi Everybody,
Came up and watched the motorkhana on the 30th, looks like a lot of fun. I will be joining the club shortly.
Looking for a car, perhaps with some preps already done, e.g. racing seat, hyd handbrake. Does anyone have anything for sale?
If not I am looking at purchasing a cheap car perhaps a datto or something along those lines to strip and convert, any suggestions??
I will be away in melbourne for 2 - 3 months, should i sign up for a 2009 Membership or just wait till 2010 and sign up then?
Any info would be apreciated

If you can't make the Twilight Khanacross (last event of the season), you're probably best joining for 2010.
As for a car, I think there are a few for sale from memory.
Failing that, we've had good results at Pickles auctions. Our Excel twincam cost us $700 with fairly light front end damage, and we haven't bothered to put a decent seat or hydro handbrake in. If you get the weight out of something, I don't think a hydro handbrake is essential...

that said, hydraulic handbrakes do look speccy. i used one for the first time in the last khanacross and they do help alot, as for race seats and harnesses they are easy enough to get off rally people who have upgraded to better equipment.
Looks like a cue to plug the old Astra once again. The rear seats are out already and it has an injected 1.8 motor. The clutch is good and the brakes are also dynamite.
It needs decent tyres and an extinguisher as the bare minimum and you're set to go. There is also an extra set of rims thrown in.
$250 would now make it yours. I can even lend you a trailer to get it home. There are pics of it in the cars for sale section.
I know Mikey also has a Laser for sale.
Lee still has my old X2 excel that might be useful as well.
Well i have a n13 pulsarQ completely stripped with a seat, a set of harness', a fire extinguisher that needs tagging again, K&N filter, a 2.25 inch straight through exhaust with perf muffler, 4 mags with decent silverstones (and maybe some more?), a half cage, another whole car for parts as well as spare G-box, clutch, ecu's and various other forms of garage cluttering shit.
They both run ok but could benefit from some plugs and oil.
