Ted the X3

I'm loving this car more and more. We almost broke a CV joint at the last event, so replaced it today.

Total cost? $81 and a couple of zip ties.

Gotta love racing cheap cars. :)

Spoke too soon. :( Ah well,

Spoke too soon. :(

Ah well, we should have the new clutch in this week.

DNFing while in P1 and P2 isn't nice.

New clutch is in! Look out kids, we've replaced a bunky rusty clutch with a shiny purple one!

Why the hell do companies bother with brightly coloured clutches? I mean, you go 'ooh' when you first open the box, and then it gets put away where no-one can see it...

The next time you see the clutch, it's all dusty and has just let you down...

couldnt you guys have just

couldnt you guys have just held off the new clutch for a little while longer...

now i need to get faster again :) or just settle for best of the rest.

I just means that we'll be able to at least start the next event. :)

yeh it was a pity you where not able to finish the last event... if i had room and my own car you could have jumped in with me but oh well.

Meh, these things happen.

Meh, these things happen. We almost had the white car out there as well, but I think it's a bit rich to be taking a spare car 'just in case'.

Righto, Ted now has the

Righto, Ted now has the Clutch fitted, and the cross member is attached at the front and the rear! Jobs left to do before the weekend include making the sumpguard fit again(big hammer), get some more mud off (even after 2hours of cleaning), and fit the Spotlights to something solid in the front end, which might turn out to be a problem in itself, as there isn't much in the front end that doesn't flap in the breeze... Might have to add some weight, so they don't vibrate that much!

pfft. As if you blokes would add weight to one of your cars. :)

Good luck to everyone for Saturday! I'll hopefully be out there on Sunday helping out.

As for the spotlights - we did manage to mount them without adding more weight than necessary... You'll laugh when you see it.

Well it looks like we've fixed the problem we had at the last round of 08. Looks like it was a blocked cat-con, probably due to the hammering it was taking under the car...

Now she's running sweet! Can't wait for March!

"I also got me a cheap three point harness, which I promptly destroyed when opening the packet with a Stanley knife. Idiot. I said some words even I was shocked at. Never-mind, I’ve since seen the light and intend to buy a new one. They’re only about £30 and it is quite important I suppose."

Not me, some guy on this forum..

What a great forum - some good ideas there.

So - who wants to race against a properly lightweight 2.0 X3 next year? :)

should be good to see a 2

should be good to see a 2 litre x3, is that off the japspec version ?

Jap spec? Apparently the

Jap spec?

Apparently the Japanese and the Koreans don't get along. Something to do with the Japanese thinking that they're superior, and the Koreans being grumpy about being invaded, raped and killed.

Funnily enough, Hyundai don't sell many cars in Japan.

But yeah, apparently the beta engine fits in the X3...

But don't anyone get any ideas. We thought of it first.
